The impending nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are only days away. What is it about a royal wedding that generates such excitement?\u00a0 Is it simply that any wedding brings general cheer, and therefore this happiness is more widespread because the royal family are a historic part of the British nation?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-509 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ammanfordchristadelphians.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/heart-529607_1920-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Whatever the reason, many will be tuning in on Saturday to share in the viewing of this momentous marriage.\u00a0 After all, weddings are a shared experience aren\u2019t they?\u00a0 The act of two people so in love they want to join themselves together for the rest of their lives, gladdens the hearts of those who know them.\u00a0 Married or not, most of us feel that need to be loved so deeply, that we know we matter more to that one person than anyone else in the whole world.\u00a0\u00a0 And then to have that person willingly stand in front of others and profess that love and commitment must be one of the most uplifting experiences a person can have.<\/p>\n<p>So where does marriage come from?\u00a0 Well, the Bible sheds some light on it.\u00a0 Back in the first book of the Bible, we learn,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\">\u2018\u2026a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh\u2019 Genesis 2:24<\/span><\/p>\n<p>God established marriage early on, but it\u2019s not only for the individual couples that we have this union. God uses it in the Bible to tell us of a forthcoming marriage, a royal marriage\u2026<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\">\u2018\u2026Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!\u2019\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Revelation 19:9<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So whose wedding is this?\u00a0 Well, the \u2018lamb\u2019 refers to Jesus.\u00a0 He was sacrificed on the cross and he is referred to as a \u2018lamb\u2019 because lambs were used in the original sacrifices in the Old Testament.\u00a0 By his death, Jesus removed the need to sacrifice animals as payment for sin, so he is the \u2018lamb\u2019 that <span style=\"color: #333399;\">\u2018takes away\u00a0<span class=\"criteria\">the<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"criteria\">sin<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"criteria\">of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"criteria\">the<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"criteria\">world<\/span>!\u2019 (John 1:29).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-508 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ammanfordchristadelphians.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Great-Hall-WB-2-320x213-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Jesus is also described as the bridegroom in other passages and his bride is the church.\u00a0 That\u2019s right: Jesus\u2019 bride is his followers who are baptised into his name and try to be faithful to him in their lives.\u00a0 The wedding supper to celebrate Jesus and the church coming together will happen when Jesus has returned to Earth to set up God\u2019s Kingdom.\u00a0 \u00a0Just as a bride and groom will have their wedding breakfast and begin their lives living together, Jesus and the church of believers will live in God\u2019s Kingdom on Earth forever more.\u00a0 Jesus will be King and the church his bride.\u00a0 It\u2019s a wedding that all are invited to be actively part of, not as an onlooker but as a part-taker.\u00a0 It will secure a believer in love eternally, with their bridegroom who has waited a long time to live with them.\u00a0 It\u2019s a marriage that won\u2019t fail, can\u2019t fail\u2026 and will bring everlasting happiness.<\/p>\n<p>So we wish Harry and Meghan much happiness in their forthcoming union, but as for the marriage of Jesus and the church \u2026 that will be the greatest wedding of all time!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-506\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ammanfordchristadelphians.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/9a9b3731297d67b3c97ea0dccf0f11e8-passion-photography-photography-poses-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To find out more about our hope and how you can become a part of it, visit our website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ammanfordchristadelphians.co.uk\/\">www.ammanfordchristadelp<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ammanfordchristadelphians.co.uk\/\">hians.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well it\u2019s nearly here!
